Vipers Bugloss – Echium vulgare

Plant : Vipers Bugloss is native to Europe, although it is often grown in domestic gardens for decoration in this region.  It’s flowers are attractive to bees and butterflies.  The flowers grow in curved groups along the length of the numerous spiky stems.  These stems may be up to 80 cm tall.   It is a member of the Boraginaceae family.

Flower : The small blue flower is trumpet shaped and has four stamen, which extend from the petals.  The flowers grow from small pink buds and flower from June to September.
