Forget me not – Myosotis sylvatica

Pollen Description : Forget me not pollen is very distinctive but can be difficult to find, due to its small size.  It is one of the smaller pollen, at 6 um long.  It has a characteristic “dumbell” shape.  The pores are very difficult to see with a light microscope and are a furrow and pore shape.  There are six of them running along the “handle” of the dumbell.  The pollen load of forget me not is yellow.
